About this portal

Luxe Monde gathers the hotels that have earned the highest rating in at least one recognised ranking. The criterion is deliberately simple and checkable: three Michelin Keys, Forbes Five-Star, a French Palace, or a place in the World's 50 Best Hotels. These rankings overlap very little, and that is the point: none of them describes luxury on its own.

For each hotel we look for a nightly price, because the rate of a room remains the most direct way to place a hotel. It is also the most fragile figure: from one source to the next, the same room can be priced twice as high. The prices on this site are rounded orders of magnitude converted into Swiss francs, and only the hotel's own site is authoritative. Complete entries are still few: one short entry becomes a complete one every day.
